After some six weeks of illness, for which we had already sent well wishes, the wife of Mr. Gottfried Baehler died last Sunday, the tenth of August midday at 12:15 pm. in the town of Browning. On Wednesday the burial was held at the German Evangelical Church under the direction of the Rev. J. Bizer who delivered a moving eulogy. The internment had a great number of attendees, particularly many neighbors of the deceased, who represented by themselves very strongly the upright Swiss. May the deceased rest in peace.
Anna Baehler, born Wyss, caught sight of the light of the world on September 18, 1873 in Bern, Switzerland and came to America in 1894. Two years later she married Gottfried Baehler, which marriage produced ten children, all of whom are alive. The deceased was a housewife, a consort, a mother in the ideal meaning of the words, which was why she was esteemed and greatly loved by all whom she knew and by her next of kin, from whom she was taken away all too early. Besides the husband and ten children, four brothers and four sisters also grieve. Of the brothers, one is a fellow citizen the butter-maker, John Wyss, while of the other three, Mr. Christian Wyss lives in the state of Ohio, Mr. Wilhelm Wyss lives in the state of Montana, and Mr. Alfred Wyss lives in Monroe County, Wisconsin. On the other hand the four sisters live over in the old fatherland. Husband and children, brothers and sisters and relatives of the deceased our sincere sympathy.

Mrs. Gottfried Baehler died at her home in the town of Browning Sunday after a six weeks illness following a stroke of paralysis. Deceased was born in Switzerland and was forty years of age. The funeral was held from the Evangelical church Wednesday, Rev. Bizer officiating. She leaves, besides her husband, ten children the youngest but a few months old. The family have the sympathy of the community in their sad affliction.

Gottfried Baehler Dies Here After Long Illness
Gottfried Baehler of the town of Browning died Sunday morning at the age of 72 years, lacking one day, at the Medford hospital of apoplexy, after being in poor health for the past five years.Mr. Baehler was born in Uebeschi, Canton Bern, Switzerland, on August 17, 1869. On March 5, 1896, he married Miss Anna Wyss at Randolph WI. At that time he owned and operated a cheese factory at Fox Lake but in November 1901 he came to this county, settling on a farm in Section 34 of the town of Browning where he lived until the time of his death. Mrs. Baehler died on August 10, 1913.
Surviving the deceased are nine children, 15 grandchildren, two brothers and several nephews. Daughters are: Clara, now Mrs. Arnold Larsen, Des Plaines, IL; Laura of Chicago; and Hilda, now Mrs. Harold Clemens, Medford.
Sons are: Arthur, Great Falls, MT; Elmer, Sheboygan Falls; Walter, Cascade, MT; William, Milwaukee; and Fred and Herman at home.
The two brothers are Jacob Baehler, Seymour, and Rudolph, North Lake.
Out of town people attending the funeral services at 1:30 from the Medford Funeral home and at 2 pm from the Evangelical church with the Rev. J.J. Hoffman officiating were Rudolph and Werner Baehler, North Lake; Mrs. Henry Dallman, Oconomowoc; Jacob, Hugo and Louis Baehler from Seymour.
Mr. And Mrs. John Baehler and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hahn, Marshfield; Mrs. Arnold Larsen, Des Plaines, IL; Mrs. Laura Baehler, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Baehler and family, Sheboygan Falls; Mrs. Frank Hess, Ringwood, IL; and Mr. and Mrs. William Baehler, Milwaukee.
Arthur and Walter Baehler of Great Falls and Cascade MT, respectively, were unable to attend but had visited their father here two weeks before his death.
Pallbearers were Herman Loertscher, Fred Ruesch, Henry Suter, Fred Widmer, Ernest Abegglen, and John Camper.
Mr. Baehler was a member of the Sweitzer Verein and of the local Evangelical Community Church.

John Wyss, 85, Dies Saturday; Funeral Tuesday
John Wyss, a retired creamery operator and town of Medford farmer, died at 12:15 Saturday morning at Memorial hospital. He had suffered an extended illness caused by cancer.Rev. Marvin Zank officiated at funeral services held Tuesday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church in Medford, and burial took place in Evergreen cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Arthur, Elmer, Fred, Walter and William Baehler and Harold Clemans.
Mr. Wyss was a native of Thun, Canton Bern, Switzerland, where he was born December 28, 1878. He came to the States in 1901, settling in Dodge county, and came to Taylor county in 1903. He operated creameries in the town of Medford until 1915 when he purchased a farm in the town of Medford which he operated until his retirement in 1946. Since that time he and his wife, the former Gertrude Walther, have resided in the city of Medford. Their marriage took place June 26, 1907, at Immanuel Lutheran church.
In addition to his widow, two sons and a daughter survive. They are Walther Wyss of Winnetka, Ill., Mrs. Flora Langteau of Medford and Orville Wyss, Austin, Tex. There are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Five sisters and four brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral Held Saturday for Mrs. John Wyss
Funeral services were conducted here Saturday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church for Mrs. John Wyss, 79-year-old Medford resident who died Wednesday, April 19, at the Memorial nursing home, Medford. Rev. Marvin Zank officiated and burial took place in Medford Evergreen cemetery.Serving as pallbearers were Elmer Baehler, Harold Clemans, John Gebert jr., Eldon Hackbart, James Klinner and Dr. Walther Meyer.
The body lay in state at Ruesch funeral home, Medford, from noon Friday until noon Saturday, and then at the church until time of services.
The former Gertrude Walther was born October 17, 1887, in ober Endfelden, Switzerland, and came to the United States in 1892 with her parents. The family settled in the city of Medford. Mrs. Wyss received her education in the Medford public schools and the Taylor county normal school. She taught school in Taylor county from 1904 until 1907. Her marriage to John Wyss, who preceded her in death May 11, 1964, took place June 26, 1917, at Medford.
Mrs. Wyss was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and its Ladies aid society.
Surviving her are one daughter, Mrs. Flora Langteau, Medford; two sons, Walther, Winetka, Ill., and Dr. Orville, Austin, Tex.; two sisters, Flora, Mrs. Ewald Klinner, and Irma, Mrs. George Meyef, both of Medford; one broher, Max Walther, Medford, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
One sister and two brothers also preceded her in death.
